We serve as the preferred source of Education, Training, Resources and Research for Maryland's Hospitality and Tourism industry.

The winners of the 2010 Maryland ProStart Student Invitational, held on February 27, 2010, are:

Culinary

1st Place - CARVER CENTER FOR ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY (Baltimore County)
2nd Place - RISING SUN HIGH SCHOOL (Cecil County)
3rd Place - GLENELG HIGH SCHOOL (Howard County)

Management

1st Place - CARVER CENTER FOR ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY (Baltimore County)
2nd Place - WESTERN SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY (Baltimore County)
3rd Place - HOWARD COUNTY ARL (Howard County)

Students from these three teams will share over $700,000 in scholarships available from nine different post-secondary schools, including Culinary Institute of America and Johnson & Wales.

The first place teams from Carver Center will represent Maryland in the 2010 National ProStart Invitational on April 30th through May 2nd.

NEED HACCP HELP?

Do you have a HACCP plan? If so, is it Updated?

The February 2008 Code of Maryland Regulations for Foodservice Facilities states that foodservice facilities shall ensure that their HACCP plan is updated 1) when a change in food processes or procedures change one or more CCP (Critical Control Point) AND 2) at least once every five years.

RAMEF has you covered!

Writing or updating a HACCP plan is not as complicated as it might at first seem. Writing it yourself saves you money but can be time-consuming. RAMEF can refer you to consultants to write your plan. Click here to contact RAMEF.

If you want to write your own plan but need help, RAMEF has developed the HACCP Writing Workshop. You will learn to how to write your own HACCP plan plus the benefit of being able to call RAMEF for assistance after the workshop. The cost is $400 and is discounted to $300 for RAM members.
